More new Viz manga licenses:

Gaba Kawa, a new Shoujo title from the creator of Happy Hustle High, Punch! and Wild Act. Not sure where it ran, but it's shoujo from Shogakukan, so likely Shoujo Comic.

Heaven's Will, more Shogakukan shoujo, this one from ChuChu.

Oishinbo, which appears to be the seinen cooking manga from Shokakukan's Big Comic Spirits. This license baffles me. The manga has been running since 1984. It's 100 volumes and counting. Either this is a Golgo 13-esque release, and we're getting a 'best of', or this is like Firefighter Daigo of Company M, and Shogakukan is 'forcing' Viz to put it out.

And back to shoujo with Saint Dragon Girl which is, GASP, shoujo from Shueisha! From Ribon, no less! I may fall over dead in shock.

In Disney news, the new Treasures for November 2008 have been announced. They're finishing off Donald Duck with Volume 4, and for those who thought 3 was boring, his late 50s cartoons are really quite entertaining. We may even get Mathemagic Land on there! They're also putting out Destino, which is the remaining footage from the cartoon Walt Disney tried to write with Salvatore Dali, and is apparently as weird as that sounds.

In time for the holidays, some things you may be interested in:

The new wave of Walt Disney Treasures is out. The Oswald the Lucky Rabbit set is fantastic, with all the surviving Oswalds fantastically restored, with commentaries and a huge feature-length documentary on Ub Iwerks. Definitely worth the price. The Chronological Donald V. 3 is also out, with Chip 'n Dale's debut, as well as Donald's Dilemma, one of my favorites.

I've recommended The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service before, and I shall do so again - it feels a lot like 'if the cast of Seinfeld did horror' at times. Volume 5 has just come out, with more creepy after-death experiences from our group of deadpan snarkers. Check it out.

There's a buttload of manga coming to comic shops this Wednesday the 19th:

- The 9th volume of CLAMP no Kiseki, which wraps up X and tosses in Miyuki-chan in Wonderland and the Snow Goddess shorts, is out.
- Drifting Classroom 9, for horror fans.
- Golgo 13 12, for Golgo 13 fans.
- Dark Horse finishes their Gunsmith Cats wideban re-release with the 4th volume.
- Hana-Kimi 21 is out, and I know some of my flist read that.
- The re-releases of High School Girls are starting, with revised cover art, better printing, and better translations. Sadly, they're reprinting them only as the old ones go OOP, so we have Volumes 1 and 3 but no 2.
- Oh My Goddess 7 unflipped. It's odd seeing the series from this far back where you actually saw things like Keiichi being sexually attracted to Belldandy as opposed to his current eunuch state.
- A boxset of the first 3 Sgt. Frog mangas, for those who didn't buy it at the time.

And in case any of you are members of the Saint Etienne fanclub (as I am), the Boxette collecting their first 3 fanclub-only CDs with a 4th CD of ultra-rare rarities is reason to sing. If you aren't a member... why not? Do you want to make Sarah Cracknell sad?
