Doctor Who - The Poison Sky
Nice two-parter, a bit more together then some others we've had.

The clone Martha plot surprised me in its resolution, which is good, cause it made up for the ultra predictable redemption bit at the end with Rattigan.

Nice effects with the fire in the sky, though slightly undercut by the usual overdone BGM. The choir was too much. But then, I don't know many Who fans who like the BGM anyway...

Still lovin' the Donna. "Back of the neck!" Still the most realistic and companioney of the new series to date, IMO. Gotta adore her smacking the Doctor after his return in the end. Nice juxtaposition with Martha's snuggle.

Ross! A fandom mourns you in a very slashy way. XD

Not sure what to think about next week. Martha being TARDIS-napped was a bit OTT to me, but then new series has many OTT moments. Then there's Buffy the Vampire Slayer as his daughter. Why do I see this as the Love & Monsters of this season?

Oh yes, "Are you my mummy?" LOL.

Still enjoying Season 4 way more than Season 3. Is it helping that RTD isn't writing most of it so far? ^^;;

As predicted, the Cliffhanger of Certain Peril was also Easily Escapable Within The First 15 Seconds Of The Second Part, via knocking out the windshield.

Still, definitely a better wrap than I was expecting, and the Sontarians still impress me as a less mindless sort of villain. I loved the confrontation where the Doctor miscalculated how they'd react to the threat; they LOVED being in that life-or-death decision moment, just like the one stupidly unhelmeted guy enjoyed beyond shot to death. Whackos, but fun whackos.

Donna punching the Doctor was a plus for me. Helps highlight the difference between her and the puppy-dog-eyes the other two companions constantly make at the Doctor.

Why didn't the doc just drive out to the Rattigan Institute? He didn't HAVE to teleport. They had access to a non-ATMOS car by that point.

Did they seriously LIGHT THE ATMOSPHERE ON FIRE?! That's gonna take a George LaForgian strange-emissions explanation of the highest caliber to explain how that didn't cause massive property damage and loss of life, considering the gas wasn't just conveniently layered above all the buildings, but already inside 'em.

Finally -- hawt chicks doing acrobatics through laser hallways. When will that ever not get old? Or any less stupid and misinformed of a trope?
